A piece full of one of the things I find hardest to paint- fabric! It's a piece that I found interesting- I like filling boats or other transportation devices with too many people and things that otherwise wouldn't possibly fit (a la Christensen). I've always liked belly-dancing, and I thought this was an interesting way to put the fabric and people together into a ship that couldn't possibly hold them. And I like the play on the phrase 'camels are the ships of the desert'. The name 'Anahista' comes from a Persian water goddess, and I like to think that the women power the boat by their music and dancing.

Beautiful, I just love it. My single regret: I would like to see a larger version of it, there are so many details on it...

A Wonderful piece! Bright lively colors and so well done that you can almost hear the music of the desert as they sail along.
