| 13 Jul 2006 | Anika Beer | Loading...hey... thought i'd leave you a comment here... this picture indeed IS really well drawn and coloured. fantastic job on the wings (though i prefer feathered wings, but that's a question of personal taste, no?) But, to leave as well some constructive critics, in my opinion the pic is a bit too... erm... full. the surrounding is so detailed and strongly coloured that you don't know where to put your attention first. the fairy-horsie gets kind of lost in this... and that's not what she deserves! erm... might help if you just left out these pink flowers in the foreground... they're maybe too egocentric Kathleen Hardy replies: "The centaur getting "lost" in the landscape is intentional. She actually stands out more in this painting than I saw her in my head. I really wanted her to look like she was part of the environment, rather than standing out in a spotlight with the background as a mere background.I guess the idea as a painting was to create an environment in which this charecter was as natural an element as the stone, or water, or plants." | |

| 9 Jul 2009 | Jeanette M Thomas | Loading...With such beautiful wings she’d have a hard time blending into the environment. Bound to stand out. Centaurs are such magical creatures in themselves, that I really can’t see the need to give them fairy-like wings. They are more solidly grounded thant the little air sprites. Can’t picture a Centaur flying with butterfly type wings. It’s a different story with the pegasus type centaurs. Adore the azaleas, the other wild flowers and the waterfall. So peaceful and idylic. | |
