This is cool. The lion looks like an ebony statue come to life. I always thought Lord Death or the Angel of Death could be either male or female. You see it depicted either way in different cultures.

I have a black cat that is named Leo and he makes me think of a black lion. I found him under a wood pile outside as a kitten. I love him very much he is my calm in the storm.

I too had a dream about a black lion but it was real and it was beautiful. The fur was silky and rich. Just like the black stallion horse only a lion. It was following me while buildings and destruction happened all around me. I wasn’t sure if the lion was causing the destruction or there to warn and protect me from it. I began fighting with this beutiful lion, then while i had his neck in my hands it turned into what I would imagine Satan to look like. I woke up in a cold sweat and immediately started researching the meaning. HANEN’T PIN POINTED IT YET AND I’D LOVE TO SEE A picture or a realistic looking painting of an actual pure black lion

I had a Dream with Black Lion too. Some time ago, but I remember it clearly, and I don`t know how to interpret it. I like your lion very much!

I myself really like the picture. I have a tattoo of a rampant Black Lion, colored fully black. The "Black Lion" for me personally is my own spiritual personification. But I’ve never associated the Black as death or something negative. But something solemn, serious and tremendously strong and original. I have yet to find any real symbolism for a Black Lion besides that of the Chinese culture where it is said that the Black Lion represents robustness, strength and power (maybe not that exactly, but to that effect). The whole Lion symbolism started with me because of my name and its meaning (Leon), and Aslan of the Narnia stories.

There is a book called "The Black Lion’s Gospel" but it doesn´t speak about any lion but about the Dragon and a Prophet, it’s an apocalyptic prophecy. Some think that the black lion could be a reference to the Antichrist or even to Jesus himself in his second coming (you know, "he came as the the lamb and will return as the lion"
, as a metaphor of the violent nature of this second coming when he comes to judge and punish.
