SciFi and Fantasy Art Featherlight by Kat Huber

She stood on the dias, the gryphons flanking her. Her bark colored hair whipped past her face, the grey feathers bound into it hissing defiant as the fingers of the wind pulled at them. Her golden eyes stared proudly at the men assembled before her. A blade was tied securely to the thigh the color of sunwarmed sandstone, the metal reflecting the clouds that mottled the rays of the setting sun.

'I am here as envoy from my Lord Father, the Great and Powerful Mandrake, Lord of Gryfons...'

Adopted by gryfons when she was abandoned as a child, Featherlight was raised by the chieftain of the most powerful clan. Marked with his clan symbol on her belly, and tattoos of wings on her shoulders, Featherlight acts as ambassador and emisary between her Gryfon family and the humans who share their lands.
