This is a pic of  Kay a character I created. He is a Kin which is a species I created. I used one of Rea (Spyrre) Kirjalainen's pics as inspiration for this. If you want to see her art the feather with the pheonix painted on it in my favourites is hers.

Anyway, I am very pleased wit this, although the scales took forEVER. I did each one individually ^-^ lol

Heh, I can see some similarity, I like your take on this subject, the kirin (or whatever animal it is) looks so different from mine. Her head and eyes ae really pretty, and the bit lizard-like tail is cute idea... and the scales look like they took time to do, as you said. ^^ Oh, and the backroud with the trees reminds me a bit of chinese painting-scrolls.

:-) Katie Verdigris Smoke replies: "It’s a Kin. Yes this is different because I wasn’t looking at yours when I did this. It was inspired by the memory of yours. ^-^"

Kays look so adorable!! ^^ I would love to have one of these as a pet. I really like all of the detail and shading and I just love the name Kay, it’s short, sweet, and to the point. 1

:-) Katie Verdigris Smoke replies: "Kay is the name of this particular Kin. The Kin is the race. It’s kind of based on a Kirin but changed so I decided to shorten the name of the species to kin and call it my own^-^ Glad you like it!"

I like this; it’s really original. I am impressed by the scales. I also like the tail and the way you did the trees in the background; it makes it stand out more.

:-) Katie Verdigris Smoke replies: "Thanx! The trees just seemed to fit really, and I’m very pleased with the scales too. I’m glad you like it! ^-^"

sorry but it looks like i kirin with no horn to me. maybe its just because i’m really tired but to me..... yeah........ its cute otherwise and i love your pencil tecnique

:-) Katie Verdigris Smoke replies: "It is just about, I think. I now know what a kirin is, although usually they don’t have fangs... Glad you like the technique, although really there wasn’t much of one!"
