"Liana" by Katie Verdigris Smoke

This is a picture I decided to draw because my friend and I had just begun a game with a new pair of characters. She was Liana and I was Rowan. I wanted to try and draw our characters, and I wanted to try a new technique. Hence the dancing girl with the flute in the smudgy forest. She is Liana, my friend's character. The flute is magical ^-^ and yes I know it looks wrong -.- I might go over this at some stage and try again with the details. I have that annoying feeling you get when you know, if you could just get in closer, use a smaller brush and, it has to be said, more patience, you could do so much better.... Ah well. As you can see this is quite a bit more realistic than my older pieces. I am very pleased with how it came out.... I think. I still feel a tad dissatisfied with some of the details, as I said. *sighs* I don't know, I do the best piece I've ever done and what happens? I only want better. That's just me I suppose...

Anyway, YAY for the background! It's a BACKGROUND. It may be smudgy and imperfect, but it is a BACKGROUND. C'mon.
