How you didn’t get a mod-pick is beyond me!!!! This is amazing!!! Great concept, and I love the lighting and textured look of the bark, absolutely brilliant.

This takes my breath away! It’s as if you could hear him creaking with every move as he cranes his head to look back at the human that so often visited his back. This is truly amazing.

replies: "I usually do my pics digitally in Paint Shop Pro. This one was first a detailed pencil picture (http://www.elfwood.com/~katte/Myth.3515065.html) which I scanned in and used as a base/shortcut for some of the shading and texturing. Most of my pics are painted digitally from scratch, though.
Paint Shop Pro is a decent, Photoshop-like program, but I’d recommend a newer version if you’re thinking of trying it out. I once tried a newer version, didn’t like the clutter of new features (mostly aimed at photographers), but recently I realised that I can’t import any custom artist-made brushes because my PSP is too outdated. Custom brushes really help cut down on the time you spend doing tedious stuff and make drawing more fun, and while it’s possible to make your own, it’s sometimes better to use someone else’s tried-and-true creation.
Have fun, and thanks for checking out my art."
