Eh, he probably just has a sudden headache. But if you have better ideas as to what the story behind this is, feel free to share them!

EDIT: You people have done FANTASTIC interpretations. Awesome creativity there! Thank you for commenting.

Ooh...Inspiration!

"The Solar Empire was ending. Another, perhaps better, one would take its place. He would not be part of it, and neither would his First. They would live, of course. That was part of the pact they had made to protect the Veroshi. But they would leave.

Deria, Commandrix of the Defenders and Grebsa Lord, was cut off from his fellow Grebsas. He knew he would never see the others again in this lifetime. But a Grebsa did not give up and he staggered on, cursing the gravel under his feet. He hit a bad patch and slid clean off the path, falling perhaps a dozen meters to an outcropping. Bruises...Nothing serious, he told himself as he pulled himself to his knees.

The sky exploded into light and he cried out, covering his eyes. He never saw the column of light that obliterated the now-emptied Veroshi City. He definitely heard the voice, more powerful by far than any of the mental calls of his fellow Grebsas.

*Deria...I can help you.*"

Awesome picture!

What’s going on in the background? It looks as if something is being destroyed and he’s in grief over the loss. A powerful scene.

He lived in a city full of the greatest, most pure and benevolent beings in the world. However he was not so. Then, one day, the people were so great and good, they were to be granted ascention into a greater existence, but he knew he didn’t deserve it. So he wandered off into the mountains, tortured by these thoughts, hoping death would take him. The darkness in his soul eating away at him.

Beautiful, and there could be so many stories behind this! Lovely work!
30 Dec 201045 No one important
the story he belonged to has ended, words soaked up and savoured by hungry bookworms anxious for a midnight snack, bindings bent to breaking point, then bent again, and the characters at a loss of what to do. their mission is complete: to engage desparate readers with their charm and talents, to lure them into the writer’s world of magic and miracles and out of this one, to make the story what it is. but a character only lives as long as its book does, nestled snug within the covers, and once a book is destroyed, so are they, because if there’s no book, there’s no words, or names, so no more characters. as i was saying, his story is done, and somehow so is the book itself, so what does this mean for him? for those that understand me, who come few and far between, the concept is obvious and therefore quite simple: he’s ending.... so when you finish Inkheart or Huckleberry Finn be sure still to take good care of it and the people snug within

He once was a healer with a noble heart. He loved a woman and she loved him, but she was sick. He coulden’t save her, so she died. He blamed himself and nearly went crazy with grieve, but a powerfull demon saw his dispair, and decided to use it. The demon needed a human host to walk on Earth, and if the healer would host him, he would bring his lover back from the dead. The healer said yes, and a time of darkness enterd. The demon build himself a big city from where he could rule the world, witch is the one you see in the background. The demon keept his promise to bring back the healers love, but she saw it was not the man she loved. He was not a man attal, and she dispised him. The healer lookt upon her from behind his own eyes, and saw her suffering, and it gaved him the strength to fight the demon. The healer was once again in comand of his own body, now with the demon trapt inside. All that was done with the demon’s dark magic was undone. His love would again enter the realm of the dead, but not beafore she gaved him a last kiss. The city started to come down around him, and he fleed. When he had reacht the moutians that guarded the city he felld upon his knees and started to fight the demon inside. He was weakened by grief, but the love for his woman was stronger than anything. The demon was defeted, and was send back to hell (the blue beam is the gateway to Hell that dragd him down). The healer went out to the world and used his skill to recover what he done. He never took another woman, beacuse he knows his true love is waiting for him.
