The cokspur, also known as the speeding chicken, is a grassland predator known for its ability to run down quick-footed prey. Its preferred method of attack is to keep pace with its chosen victim and knock the prey of its feet with a swipe of the outermost claw. Failing that, or if the cokspur is attacked, it will rotate that claw forward and attack in a downward motion. Neither way is enough to kill, but both can disable, leaving the cokspur time to dispatch its prey or escape an attacker.

So how is it able to run so fast with the giant claw in the way? Oh what am I asking for??? Great job.

:-) Kerry S. Boyd replies: "Actually, the claw isn't in the way; it extends outward from the side of the foot, so that it doesn't impede the cokspur's running. Also it can't stab itself that way. ^..^"

I just have to say, this is beautiful. I think that you're very talented and I just think that you are brave working with colors. Me myself don't do that so often, I have a great fear of ruining my sketch... a bit silly perhaps, but... Anyway, fantastic picture!

:-) Kerry S. Boyd replies: "Thank you! Working with pen makes it easier to experiment with colors, as you can make copies to practice on (either with a copy machine or scanning and printing), while saving the original for when you know what to do with it. "

WOW! that really looks like a cheetah I've seen lots of cheetahs before

:-) Kerry S. Boyd replies: "The pose was based on a cheetah, yes, as well as the general build of the beast."
