| 8 Aug 2004 | C. Thompson | Loading...Very well done. The flow of the hair follows the flow of the dress. The pose is well done and looks very balanced. Excellent job. Kerry S. Boyd replies: "*wiggle* Thanks!" | |

| 26 Jan 2005 | Laura C. Bunn | Loading...Very nice coloring and structure especially with the feeling of movement. However, the leg just bothers me because it seems a little squat. perhaps a foreshortening mistake?Anywho, keep up the good work! Kerry S. Boyd replies: "Perhaps... you can't see much of the thigh because of how the leg is positioned, but the lower leg might be a little short. " | |
| 26 Jan 2005 | Angelspirit | Loading...I think u should leave it blue(the dress), Its more enchanting. good job Kerry S. Boyd replies: "Thank you; I think I will. ^..^" | |
| 26 Jan 2005 | Jennifer M. Lawson | Loading...Her hair and dress is very pritty. And her ears are much different than all the other elf ears I've seen. She looks like she has child legs. Kerry S. Boyd replies: "Thank you. ^..^ Child legs? Why do you say that?" | |
| 27 Jan 2005 | Quiet and shy | Loading...Oh, blue is just fine! I think red would just sort of make her vanish into the white of the page. Love the pose! Kerry S. Boyd replies: "*nods* That's what I thought too. Thanks. ^..^" | |
| 7 Oct 2005 | Rebecca K. Earl | Loading...I love the dress and the colour is gorgeous, i'd like one like it!! You've done the pose really well, she looks so lifelike. The ears look a little wierd though, but i think they, in some way, suit her though. Anyway, great picture, definately leave the dress blue. =D Kerry S. Boyd replies: "Thanks. ^..^ I didn't have a reference for the dress, so I'm not sure if it exists... but if it doesn't and you ever have some money, I'm sure you could commission a custom dress from somebody or other and bring this picture in to show the dressmaker what you want. It shouldn't cost more than what it would in a store. The ears are how I see them; she herself thinks they should be longer (but I don't think that'd look good). She ewas so happy with how it came out that I don't think I'll change it, though. ^..^" | |
| 9 Nov 2005 | Q | Loading...wow! I love the detail you have w/ your pics, I'm thirteen and just starting out, any tips would be great, I can't draw any human-based life-forms AT ALL! But your pic is wonderful, I love it. The only thing I have to ask is (and I'm not saying I have a problem w/ it, I like it) why is she so pale? I can honestly say I have only seen two people as pale as that in my life, Jenni and her big sis Corri, and they are only pale because they wear black. I've said to much now so continue with your work! Kerry S. Boyd replies: "I'm glad you like it! The trick about drawing humanoid creatures is to study humans; try sketching poses from magazines and your friends. The best experience comes from drawing real people, not pictures, though pics do help you get proportions and difficult poses correct. Then once you've got that down, you can mess around with the human form (do elves, orcs, anthro stuff, etc). The reason she is so pale is because of her ancestry; she's one of the sea elf clan (like Tolkien's Teleri), and they tend to be pale-skinned with dark hair. That and she has a bluish undertone to her skin instead of red or yellow like we humans are used to and automatically looks paler. " | |
