SciFi and Fantasy Art Jax´s full form by Kerry S. Boyd

This is Jax, king of the drakes, a race that began with the first half-dragons who interbred. Now there are much fewer first-generation drakes (those who are truly half-dragons), and he is one of them. This is his dragon form, and he's huge. Sorry if the red and yellow are blinding, but it's the best I could get it to look. Definitely much better in person. Colored pencils with watercolor-penciled clouds.

24 Feb 2006	Katie Collishaw	Loading... whoa... those scales must have taken u forever. the only problem I see is that his tail seems a little too short for his body... but maybe it's just me. Very nice job.. I like him. Kerry S. Boyd replies: "Yeah, they did, especially because the outside edges are spiky instead of smooth. So I had to have lots of lines instead of just four outlines and the keel lines in the middle. >..< Part of the tail thing is the angle he's at, but Cynthia (whose character this is) said that he's fine, so I didn't change it. "
28 May 2006	Shauna E. Purpura	Loading... Very lovely scales.. That must have taken a long time!! Gorgeous position, that's a gnarly angle to draw at. X] thumbsup Kerry S. Boyd replies: "Thanks! Yeah, it took several hours on the scales. I'd pencil a section, ink it, and move on so I wouldn't get lost and mess it up. And I seem to pick the hardest positions to draw nowadays. I guess I got bored with profile shots, but sometimes I wish I'd picked something easier. However, this one turned out really well, and I'm glad I did it. ^..^"
