Think the whole fae realm just is captivated perfectly, especially the essence of eternal-ness. *lol* Like the whole capture of nature thing... Right..I'll stop waffling now...Basically...summed up, it's brilliant! ^.^ Monika Dia'k replies: " Thankyou very much for your wonderful comment, it brought a smile to my day! It's always wonderful to hear someone think one of your pieces was a success "

| 28 Sep 2004 | Anonymous | Loading...the guy is perfect. i love him. i like the way the mushrooms are portrayed as being big in this picture, instead of the faerie being small. i also like that she's not inhumanly beautiful. The one thing that peeves me is her lack of clothes. I've always wondered why so many people draw mythical people naked. It seems that if they're just as 'smart' as us humans, they'd want to be modest too? Monika Dia'k replies: "Ah. This is an interesting debate and one I would like to share my opinion of. I do not think that intelligence means "I need to go the local boutique and expand my latest range of flower-petal skirts". Clothes are a thing people in cities have opted for. Have a look at humans who have a very close affinity with nature: forest pygmies, tribes people, desert dwellers, even our australian indigenous 'aboriginals'. Yes they have modesty, but do not opt for tailored garments sewn from the fines spiders silk and the rarest plants. I do not believe fairies should have to wear clothes if they do not wish to, the "faery" body is not something that should be shameful and covered with western fashion. " | |
| 28 Oct 2004 | Pixie | Loading...I would kiss the fairy happy to be a prisoner in the fairy realm she is wonderfully depicted her face and ears are just so she may have no clothes on but her pose is completely modest how some folk can draw , is a mystery to me shes beautiful i love the lush plants too , no wonder the boy cant help himself hope it works out for them Monika Dia'k replies: "Sometimes the faery realm isn't as hospitable or romantic as it's popularly made out to be. Especially the unseelie court... now they're a horrorsome bunch! Thankyou for your darling comment... and I agree with you too however.. I'd certainly accept anything they have to offer " | |

Monika Dia'k replies: "Thankyou very much for the kindly comment I've been trying hard lately to produce pieces that may evoke thought or emotion... or anything else that's similar"

| 18 Oct 2005 | Katharine Brodaski | Loading...Oooh adorable! The composition is wonderful - you can almost hear the strains of romantic music mingling with the sounds of the forest around them. My only complaint is that it seems some of the darker values were lost in scan, but it's still a lovely picture! Monika Dia'k replies: "*shame* No... there probably were no darker values.. I am cursed with making everything impossibly light... I need to learn to press harder with my pencil : <</font>" | |
| 6 Jul 2006 | Sasha | Loading...I have a question, if you`d be kind enough to answer it i`ll be thrilled. Your picture is graphite drawn, how do you draw so that it doesn`t smudge? My favourite medium is graphite, but i never draw such detailed envoiraments because i always smudge the stuff that`s already drawn... It`s got me stumped and your work just inspired me to go and draw something beautiful...Sob..Please share your wisdom | |
