Surrounded by enemies, the elder vampire Aldrich meets his end after over a thousand years of not-living.

+ + +

This is mango boo's character, Aldrich. In her story, to kill a vampire his/her heart must be removed. Yup, that's his heart in the foreground -- I didn't want to make it too obvious because that might have been too gory and icky. (Besides, it's in the extreme foreground, so it kinda makes sense that it's blurry.) I wasn't really planning to draw this scene, nor this particular character for that matter... But when I looked at what my hand had sketched, I knew I had to color it.

I'm aware that realistically, the blood and the marble floor should've been more reflective. The marble floor, I just got lazy... the blood, I think it looks better this way, even though it requires a sacrifice in realism. XD

I am going to post a "how I did this picture" thing on my site, in a step-by-step format. If interested, please visit http://cozypaper.com and go to the "Misc" section! It should be up by the time my extranet ticket gets processed...

Ohg my god I was browsing and I fell on this and almost broke my face with how truly incredible it is! The lighting is amazing and I am in awe of the expression and feeling of the whole image its so powerful it made me feel a weird sensation in my stomach. GREAT work, I am completely impressed...

Don't worry about the realism... Your picture is really very great !!! I very like the way you worked, with only blue and red tones... That's superb ! In addition, I loooove vampires universes ^^ BRAVO !!! 1

Great picture. My favourite parts are the vampire's hair (long white hair= gorgeous) and the tilted angle. The angle makes the picture much more interesting.

Very cool, but the thing that bothers me about this picture is the arms, something about the way they're connected at the shoulders and the foreshortening of the right (his left) arm. He's also pretty darn talented, being able to move around without a heart 2.

This one's beautiful! 0.0 rather handsome guy, lighting is great (the hair, window, wall to the left) i like the idea of hoding the heart, it's all great, nice work! ^^

It makes absolute sense that the only other effective way to kill a vampire is to remove the heart.(aside from reducing them to ashes anyway) Without the pumping, the blood can’t circulate through their veins. I like it. I’d always been wondering about the second permanent way to kill a vamp.

But I do have to say that you’ve done a great job with this. Very nice!

Awesome pic. I am really interested in how people depict vampires in their art at the moment. The blood is very realistic and the lighting really well done. The way the hand in the foreground is fuzzy leaves more to the imagination; I like that.

Actually anybody who had their heart removed would die.

44 Min 'Keiiii' Kwon replies: "Not necessarily. 2 I’m pretty sure someone like Sydney from Vagrant Story would just regrow one."

Wow, really scary. I think that he deserved it actually, the one who lost his heart i mean. I get a feeling that he just deserves it. Amazing work!

This picture remides me of a tramatic expirence in my past when someone stole my favorite potato. I feel that guys pain... the loss of ones potato is not an easy thing to get over.
