We get silk from the silkworm cocoons; in order to get the fabric, the cocoons must be destroyed. Had the silkworms lived, they would grow into silkmoths, like the ones I painted here (except smaller and not red in color).

In this picture, the silk is transforming into a flock of moths. It's magic - there's no other way to explain it. There are, however, many different ways to interprete it...

Fantastic! Like many of your pictures, this is true and excellent fantasy art! Passionate, original, not cliche. Lovely and refreshing. Great work!

I love the way you portray this. The feel of the picture, the woman does not fight but merely accepts in sadness what is to become of her silk. I think it is beautiful in a way, how they turn into the moths they would have been if not made into silk. That is only how I perceive it. But in any way, i like this not only for the talent used to make it, but for the meaning to it.

I love the style of this picture, and the idea of silk moths transforming out of a dress is amazing.

To me it looks like the silk is transforming into moths because the life the caterpillars lost when their cocoons were harvested is being returned to them, but that requires the destruction of things created from the loss of that life. Or I’m reading into it to much. Either way it’s an excellent piece of art
