Shena was a legendary Northland princess held prisoner by the deranged Mage of Aringore. The snake around her neck is a creature of the Mage. The tale is in the high style of the Northlands, and the love of Shena and the warrior Brevan is only a part of the three night long ballad. Visit my wyvern's shelf to read a few verses.

Colored pencil.

Heh! I thought it was acrylics until I read the description! I had no Idea you could end with such a finish with colored pencils 2 Congrats and keep it up!!

I love the pose and the composition, and the dark mood. Nice costume work as well. You might want to think about the form of the neck. On a slender person the basic form of the neck is almost cylindrical (i.e. not tapered) and form a distinct (if subtle) angle with the shoulders. Good work!

I am amazed by how well you managed to portray the light cast on the wall by the candles. The stone texture is really great. I like her expression: sad, but serene. I also really like the material of her dress. It looks nice and thick. Overall, nice job!

Sarah. I really love your work and desire to create. I really like Captive and the light from the flame on the stone wall. I always loved this effect and think you did a good job.

OOOH, pretty! *Sighs and wishes coloured pencils behaved for her* Yeah, she's really awesome, poor girl. But never fear, the handsome prince will come to rescue her!His name's Brevan. Well, he's not actually a prince, but close enough. 2

Great job on this! The shadowing is very nice. I like how you paid attention to the details and cast the light from the candle across her dress and the wall. Really, the attention to the details is wonderful. I also like the history you included on the picture. Great job of capturing the feeling. Thanks! If I remember correctly, the peice started out as a candle-light study.
