"Dragon in woods" by Pille Heero

wow, i LOVE this dragon. if you love dragons why draw something else. dragon's are my favoritest. but congrats on the mods choice.

Nice use of colour, and lovely style. It reminds me alot of the illustrations in a book of fairy tales I had when I was little.

I just luv the look on his eyes how it shows innocence yet courage. he's really cute. they did well to make this Mod's Choice. can't wait for more!!!

Pille, you should never push back your hopes and dreams like that. If you want to become a children's story illustrator, then chase that dream, and make it happen. It won't be easy, I can promise you, but nothing beats the feeling when you achieve a dream that you've worked really hard to achieve. My cousin is a writer of childrens' books, and is in need of an illustrator, but she's trying to get me to do it because she doesn't have the money for commission work. My ideas of how the face of Curious Kitty(a little girl) should look, especially the eyes. If you are interested in hearing more, then drop me a line, clclemmons@direcway.com is my email. Pille Heero replies: "Thank you for supporting me. But it is hardly believable that I will become an illustrator. It is nothing you can work, i mean earn a living unless you are really good illustrator, and I am not (jet!). But I keep drawing and maybe one day... who knows..."

I must say that your coloring skills are very good, I am most impressed with the coloring... very nice... the only souggestion here is that you could have thought a bit on the anatomy of your dragon... the wings seem to conect to the body to directly and there dosen't seem to be mouch muscle there ( maybe because he is young as you mentioned??? )ANyways, i hope you did not mind my bit of critick... and I have a question, whac did you use to colore this??? and I am just getting in to coloring and if you have any tips for me on that, I would apreciate them greattly...

Pille Heero replies: "Thanks.And thanks for critics. I really appreciate it. Critic helps me to notice my mistakes and do it better next time.About coloring. For the dragon and trees and rocks I used colored pencils, for they are my favorite media, but the background is painted with gouache, because I am too lazy to colour the whole picture with pencils."
