Thanks for sharing such lovely pieces. ( Gotta tell ya... I used to study art at Bollnäs Folkhögskola in Gävle, your hometown. På tal om ingenting alltså.)
| 21 Nov 2005 | Lareyna | Loading...Within the dark confines of one of the many tents of the Cirque Du Lumiére, away from public eye, away from sunlight, away from all that is merry, there is the wild animal keep. As one steps within, the flaps closing behind them, the first thing to assault them is the overwhelming smell of hay, rotting meat, old dung, and the unmistakable scent of large predators; lions and tigers to be exact. It is dimly lit inside the tent, with only a single torch on the opposite side of the enclosure, but one can see as their eyes adjust that they stand before a single path that leads between two lines of cages. Within these cages are the performing cats, their glowing yellow eyes now on the intruder, turned from a spectacle at the end of these rows. But one would find their eyes drawn away from the cats, for something far more amazing, perhaps macabre and heart wrenching. The last two cages, opposite one another, are empty of hay, of meat and fecal matter, but they are filled with something ultimately more horrible. To the left, at the end of that row, the single torch, between the two rows casts into sharp relief the unmistakable form of a beautiful angel. Heaven-sent indeed, he stands tall, 6’6 at least, with his beautiful bronzed skin and his tawny hair, his golden eyes. To see such a creature caged… And then, movement from the cage directly opposite. Again, a beautiful being, but now darkly so. A woman, standing 5’11, is pressed to the bars of the cage, as is the angel, her golden brown hair falling about her shoulders. She is in classic ranger garb, for traveling. Her blue eyes hold the sheen of tears, her entire manner speaks desperation and regret. But what steals the breath… she is a demon! A succubus, but unlike any other; her skin is fair, no horns or spikes mar her beauty. As one stands there to witness this amazing spectacle, this angel and demoness reach out to one another, one immaculately white and feathered wing, shining with all the holiness an angel possesses, and one dark and leathery wing, the fingers indigo, the membrane swirling with all the colours of twilight. They can just barely meet, the tip of one claw touching a single white feather, their wings strained to the utmost, the great things thrust between the bars of their cages, and their eyes are locked. It is a silent promise that no matter what happens, they will be together, they –will- find a way free.
I can see all of this in my mind, and I am begging you, if you could please depict this, I would be forever grateful. It is very emotionally charged, and I feel that you have such emotion in your pieces, that you could portray what this moment was like, when it was played out. Whether you comply to my request or not, thank you, for bothering to read my rambling and at least considering this.
With Respect, Lareyna.

I am little of an artist myself, with neither the talent nor the means to publish work on this site, but perhaps this is a good thing, as it gives me the desire to search for another with the same tastes as myself. I am always pleasantly surprised when wandering the many galleries, but I can say that honestly (and for the first time) my breath has left me. Your work is more than astounding, and it reminds me that what truly sets humans apart is our ability to not only envision, but to –create-. I happen to role play, not on any forum, or through any game, but through a gaming server called battle.net, provided by blizzard. I have long wished to have a piece made of my own character, but I have never had the courage to request that an artist such as your self put such time and effort into such a creation. But I find myself humbly begging now. It would be such an honor to see my character brought to life outside of my imagination, and to see how you view her. Whether my request is accepted or not, please, allow me to describe the situation I would simply die to have portrayed. My character is a succubus, and my friend’s is an angel. Their names are Lareyna and Thanyel.
