Recognize this guy? If you've seen my gallery before, you probably should. :) I think he looks a mite metallic, do you?

Done from scratch in Photoshop, greyscale. Since I was only finishing what I'd done before (about a year ago or so, I believe), I did not colorize him.

The shading is amazing! You're right, it does look metallic, but fittingly so! I especially love the detail you've given the face. Nice ears, too - not too often you see ears like that (or really, ears at all!) on a dragon. Great idea for those horns! Wow!

1 Heather L. Kidd replies: "Thank you for the comment! The branch-tipped horns are somewhat inspired by other branched-horned dragons I've seen drifting around by various artists. Those ears have sort of become the default for my dragons, and I'm not sure why."

*starts to do the first comment polka, then stops...looks at the pic again* holy shizz...that's so....Friggen...cool! holy cow makes swiss! that's just...way friggen cool! i could never do something that cool...you rock. yay for your rockness! ^_^

2 Heather L. Kidd replies: "Sure you could do it! The original pic of this--the sketch--was about half a year old on my machine, possibly older. I decided I'd work with it and see where I could go adding some contrast with burn and dodge. It's all about the contrast."

Hi Heather, I have to say I wasn't trying to force you to come and read from my library - I just wanted to make sure I got back here cos I knew I'd forget 1 But lo and behold, I was going through my comments and saw yours again so here I am! 1 As I said in your library, all the multi-talented females (writers AND artists) around here are beginning to annoy me (*jealous frustration*) - please keep up the good work. I hope your real life scheduling gives you a break soon (I know what *that's* like... 1

Definately my fave pic here! I love photoshop, but i also love pencil drawings. I like how this image looks like both! Very cool!

I must say, that is one of the COOLEST pictures I have seen in a long time. I love the title too... I'll have to learn how to draw like that. *narrows eyes enviously*
