Great little short--evokes fiery images and leaves a great deal of space to work with. I'm glad you encouraged others to work with this, all I thoroughly enjoyed the three (so far) 'offspring.' =) Debra Lynn Turpin replies: "Thank you! Jim Bowers was very instrumental in getting this off the ground. I love the other pieces that were done for this and I do plan to add one of my own. I just simply don't have the time right now. My husband and our relationship was the inspiration for this piece, so I'm always very pleased when someone likes this!"

If I find the link I could send it to you. =) Well, I can't say much as I ave never read the other pieces. Farewell for now! Debra Lynn Turpin replies: "Well, thanke, Miz Pirate. If you find that link, send it over, I'd love to take a look at it. *smile*"

I'll have to look up the third piece as well Thanks for sharing! Debra Lynn Turpin replies: "Thank you. Please do go look at the other pieces. I have been thrilled with what came of this. I'm glad you like it."

The only jarring part of this description, for me, was the word 'oozed' - ugh. Normally that word has unpleasant connotations in English - 'oozed slime' or 'oozed noxious salesman charm' would be typical uses of the word. Maybe another similar word, but with better implications, like 'exuded'? or 'radiated'? Debra Lynn Turpin replies: "Thank you for dropping by. hmmm... I like radiated, but honestly, I still like oozed. *smile* I'll think about it, though. Appreciate your comments."

James also told me about your little project over here - Destiny's Eternal Lovers, I was curious about it. It it similar to 'The Project'? Can an artist contribute a picture? And while I'm here, I must say I have enjoyed all of the stories pertaining to this project. I've read yours, James' and E's so far - lovely work!! Debra Lynn Turpin replies: "Thank you very much. If anything I scribble inspires you, feel free to use the theme! I would be honored. I dropped by your gallery and was very impressed. Thanx so much for dropping over.I was very happy to be invited to Jim's project, I just wish I'd had more time to give it proper justice!"

It's very powerful and gripping. I haven't read something that truly grabbed the fibres of my soul so firmly as this in a long time. *smiles* Thank you for this most delightful and gorgeous read. Debra Lynn Turpin replies: "Well, thank you! I appreciate your kind words. This was a wonderful comment so early in the morning! *smile* I'm always pleased when someone enjoys this particular piece."

I noticed that my comment was full of mistakes (stupid spell checker didn't work and erased all the text so that I was forced to write it again), and I was in a bit of hurry. Drat! Sorry about it! Debra Lynn Turpin replies: "No problem! I get to typing way too fast sometimes and things get very skewed. *smile*"

As I was pondering Project 9, and looking the Herscher's page, I realized that even though I'm writing a story based on your story, I still haven't commented it. How rude of me. About the story; I rather like that you have chose to leave it open the way it is. It's open to the reader. I doubt your intention wasn't to write it as an actual "story" (if you understand what I mean by this?), am I right? I, dor myself, have thought about reincarnation a lot of these days. It's a fascinating thought that what if certain people we cross paths with have been there by our side always... Anyway, I don't wonder at all why Jim decided to use your little piece as a one of the Hercher's Project. The idea is interesting, and it tickles my interest. Debra Lynn Turpin replies: "Welcome! and thank you very much. You're correct that this is not an actual story. Tis more of an intro (of sorts). It just came to me suddenly one night and I had to put it on paper. I guess part of why I left it open was because I think that inside everyone, there is a "someone" that they hope to find. Sometimes, tis more powerful in one person than another, or so I think. The piece I'm doing for Jim this time, will more fully explain my thoughts on this. (Or so, I hope! - tis still a bit of a jumble, but I am a deadline kind of person, so I still have a bit of time. lol) I just like the thought and sometimes I can't help but think that there are people that I have always known. somehow. somewhere. *smile*"
| 20 Jul 2006 | Deborah Cullins Smith | Loading...Beautifully written, Deb. It was a pleasure to participate in this one, but I regret my story had not one bit of fantasy in it, so I couldn't post it on Elfwood. Still, it was fun! And you created such a wonderful jumping off point for us all! Thanks, Sweetie! ~deb Debra Lynn Turpin replies: "You're welcome! I'm still constantly surprised by the evolution of this little snippet. This piece just overwhelmed my senses to the point that I had to put it on paper. I really didn't think too much more about it when I posted it and then Jim showed up and everything changed! (Yay! Jim!) I absolutely loved Falkirk and I wish it could be posted, too. I was so blown away by all the different ideas this tidbit generated. I am humbled by the honor." | |

Debra Lynn Turpin replies: "Thank you for taking the time to read and comment on this. I wrote this as kind of a testament of how I feel about my husband. I believe we were meant to be together. The rest of the story just kind of evolved. *smile*"
