This is the intro to a project that was suggested to me by Jim Bowers. He also came up with this fantastic title. I originally called it: Soulmates, but found that I like Jim's suggestion much better.
These star-crossed lovers are destined to be drawn to each other, no matter where the place or time. Jim has done a complete story for this piece and I believe there are others who are working on a story.
See my front page for Jim's link to 'For a Few Silver Coins' as well as E. Hanna's 'Sadariean', which got Mod's Choice!

They had chased each other through the millennia. Sometimes they missed each other and tragically died without knowing the warmth of the other. Soul mates they were. Destined to be together, but so alike they couldn’t always stand the closeness of the other one, sometimes for centuries.

They had a love that surpassed all time, all boundaries, all barriers. It was deep, warm and at times, impossibly painful. They were volatile, impatient, compulsive and passionate. He was always dark, brooding and powerful. She was fiery, willful and passionate.

They were desperately jealous of the other, yet too proud and determined to admit any flaws of character. In more than one lifetime, their pride kept them apart. They died lonely and defeated. Yet, they returned again and again, seeking each other out, longing for the other.

There was something powerful about them when they joined forces. They were a couple to be reckoned with, in any time period. They made things happen. Some people want things to happen, others wish things would happen, but they could make things happen. It frightened people and they were envious. More than once, that had caused their destruction and separation.

To meet on the same plane, to be joined in total unity, was a moment of bliss in eternity for them. They were willing to pay the price, whatever it may be.

The unity of their love shone forth from them, like a bright beacon in the darkness of time. They oozed of total completeness, trusting in each other against the world.

Their stories are stories of legend, of myth and transfixed romance.

Well, I've read 'For a Few Silver Coins,' 'Sadariean,' AND 'Soul Dancers,' so it's about time I hauled myself over here to see where it all started!

Great little short--evokes fiery images and leaves a great deal of space to work with. I'm glad you encouraged others to work with this, all I thoroughly enjoyed the three (so far) 'offspring.' =)

:-) Debra Lynn Turpin replies: "Thank you! Jim Bowers was very instrumental in getting this off the ground. I love the other pieces that were done for this and I do plan to add one of my own. I just simply don't have the time right now.
My husband and our relationship was the inspiration for this piece, so I'm always very pleased when someone likes this!"

Beautiful.

I found symbolism of the sun and the moon, so I can't imagine what else it could be. It reminded me of a piece of art I saw recently. If I find the link I could send it to you. =) Well, I can't say much as I ave never read the other pieces.
Farewell for now!

:-) Debra Lynn Turpin replies: "Well, thanke, Miz Pirate. If you find that link, send it over, I'd love to take a look at it. *smile*"

This was sweet. It shed a new light on 'For a Few Silver Coins' which I quite recently read. I'll have to look up the third piece as well 2 Thanks for sharing!

:-) Debra Lynn Turpin replies: "Thank you. Please do go look at the other pieces. I have been thrilled with what came of this.
I'm glad you like it."

Such a compelling concept in romantic and fantasy literature - some of the best authors have covered this theme, and it never gets old - well, not to me anyway. 2 The only jarring part of this description, for me, was the word 'oozed' - ugh. Normally that word has unpleasant connotations in English - 'oozed slime' or 'oozed noxious salesman charm' would be typical uses of the word. Maybe another similar word, but with better implications, like 'exuded'? or 'radiated'?

:-) Debra Lynn Turpin replies: "Thank you for dropping by. hmmm... I like radiated, but honestly, I still like oozed. *smile* I'll think about it, though. Appreciate your comments."

Hi Deb ^.^ I was just recently informed about 'The Project' by James and Jamie, alas I was too slow to get something into #6, I hope to be a part of the next project. James also told me about your little project over here - Destiny's Eternal Lovers, I was curious about it. It it similar to 'The Project'? Can an artist contribute a picture?

And while I'm here, I must say I have enjoyed all of the stories pertaining to this project. I've read yours, James' and E's so far - lovely work!!

:-) Debra Lynn Turpin replies: "Thank you very much. If anything I scribble inspires you, feel free to use the theme! I would be honored. I dropped by your gallery and was very impressed. Thanx so much for dropping over.I was very happy to be invited to Jim's project, I just wish I'd had more time to give it proper justice!"

Short, but so beautiful and true... I'm sorry, I'm usually much better with comments. This is a wonderful piece of prose, Debra. It's very powerful and gripping.

I haven't read something that truly grabbed the fibres of my soul so firmly as this in a long time. *smiles* Thank you for this most delightful and gorgeous read.

:-) Debra Lynn Turpin replies: "Well, thank you! I appreciate your kind words. This was a wonderful comment so early in the morning! *smile* I'm always pleased when someone enjoys this particular piece."

Ups. I noticed that my comment was full of mistakes (stupid spell checker didn't work and erased all the text so that I was forced to write it again), and I was in a bit of hurry. Drat! Sorry about it!

:-) Debra Lynn Turpin replies: "No problem! I get to typing way too fast sometimes and things get very skewed. *smile*"

Ciao! As I was pondering Project 9, and looking the Herscher's page, I realized that even though I'm writing a story based on your story, I still haven't commented it. How rude of me.

About the story; I rather like that you have chose to leave it open the way it is. It's open to the reader. I doubt your intention wasn't to write it as an actual "story" (if you understand what I mean by this?), am I right?

I, dor myself, have thought about reincarnation a lot of these days. It's a fascinating thought that what if certain people we cross paths with have been there by our side always...

Anyway, I don't wonder at all why Jim decided to use your little piece as a one of the Hercher's Project. The idea is interesting, and it tickles my interest.

:-) Debra Lynn Turpin replies: "Welcome! and thank you very much. You're correct that this is not an actual story. Tis more of an intro (of sorts). It just came to me suddenly one night and I had to put it on paper. I guess part of why I left it open was because I think that inside everyone, there is a "someone" that they hope to find. Sometimes, tis more powerful in one person than another, or so I think. The piece I'm doing for Jim this time, will more fully explain my thoughts on this. (Or so, I hope! - tis still a bit of a jumble, but I am a deadline kind of person, so I still have a bit of time. lol) I just like the thought and sometimes I can't help but think that there are people that I have always known. somehow. somewhere. *smile*"

Beautifully written, Deb. It was a pleasure to participate in this one, but I regret my story had not one bit of fantasy in it, so I couldn't post it on Elfwood.
8 Still, it was fun! And you created such a wonderful jumping off point for us all! Thanks, Sweetie!

:-) Debra Lynn Turpin replies: "You're welcome! I'm still constantly surprised by the evolution of this little snippet.
This piece just overwhelmed my senses to the point that I had to put it on paper. I really didn't think too much more about it when I posted it and then Jim showed up and everything changed! (Yay! Jim!)
I absolutely loved Falkirk and I wish it could be posted, too. I was so blown away by all the different ideas this tidbit generated.
I am humbled by the honor."

I reaaly believe in destiny as eternal lovers, because it seems to be interesting,i am a lady who gave my hundred percent in believing destiny.Soulmates???I guess its true it seems to be imposible, but for me lovers are destined for eachother.

:-) Debra Lynn Turpin replies: "Thank you for taking the time to read and comment on this. I wrote this as kind of a testament of how I feel about my husband. I believe we were meant to be together. The rest of the story just kind of evolved. *smile*"
