After watching the latest installment of the LOTR movies I was inspired to paint this scene that has not yet appeared in the films. The battle between the Nazgul King, Theoden, Eowyn and Merry the hobbit. 'Out of the wreck rose the black rider, tall and threatening, towering above her...' 'But suddenly he too stumbled forward with a cry of bitter pain, and his stroke went wide, driving into the ground. Merry's sword had stabbed him from behind, shearing through the black mantle, and passing up beneath the hauberk had pierced the sinew behind his mighty knee.'

I like this depiction of the battle on the Pelennor (sp?) fields better than some I've seen. I won't mention ROTK the movie here, just in case people haven't seen it yet. All I can say is, I like this much better.

It seems the RoTK Movie changes this scene.. or else my memory of the novels (which I havent read in 5.. wow.. 5 years is a long time for an 18 year old like myself)is a bit shakey. I like it, and your other stuff as well (might as well include them all). I've just spent half an hour in total of the last hour here. Amazing!

That's one of my favorite scenes from the book, and it's really cool to see it in your pretty style.

This is wonderfull, but I must say that Theoden looks all together too, well, alive.... I've read the books like twenty times, and this particular scene about sixty, and Theoden needsto look more dead.... Wonderfull pic, though..... GO MERRY! GO 'DERNHELM'!
