In a forest

Dark and deep

A dragon rider

She did weep.

Next to here

A heap in the grass

Her dragon knew

His time had passed.

His wing was bent

His scales were worn

His rider hugged him

She knew to mourn.

Her tears of sorrow

Dappled his face

And his old out-beat heart

Began to race.

His vision did blur

He drew his last breath

His head fell down heavy

He knew it was death

The breeze ran through the valley

It made his belly sore

And not that it’s forgotten

The dragon knew no more.

Later on that evening

His spirit flew the skies

He found his saddened rider and

Dried her tear strung eyes

Even though his riders love

Made his sadness sear.

He knew he had to continue on,

So his spirit disappeared

I like it a lot. I love dragons and it's finally good to see someone write about them. If I was any good at writing I might try it but I think I'll stick to drawing pictures.5

Wow, that was really nice. Simple and so sweet - and sad of course, but I didn't think I needed to stress that as everyone else already did. 14
