The last man with still the strength to stand, he lifted his Prince's flag. Placing the tip on the hard dirt, he used the pole to brace himself. Many comrades and enemies had fallen around him and the stench of honourless death clung in his lungs. Soul-torn eyes looked up at him from an empty corpse. 'We have claimed this land today,' he barely whispered, 'but there is no real victory here.' My first attempt at armor.. Details lost in the scanning.. wot do you think?

Good piece. Too bad the details of the armour was lost in the scanning but u still get the over all effect of pure death and relief!

Have you ever considerd writing? ,the story behind the pic is great and so is the pic it's self.

:-) Kelsey Hottman replies: "*Thank you very much. Actually yes I'm writing a story right now, for the better part of two years actually.. it'd be done but I've been slacking off.. heh. Thanks so much I'm really glad you liked it."

I don't know if this is what you were going for, but the style of this drawing greatly reminds me of mediveal book illustrations. Any chance of seeing a couloured version? I think it would look even better with a slight sepia tint.

:-) Kelsey Hottman replies: "*Yeah it kinda does look like medieval book illustration.. wasnt what I was going for but I greatly enjoy the idea. Sepia tint.. never thought of using that.. you're right though it would really enhance the emotion of the picture... but I don't do computer coloring or tinting so I dunno... as for coloring it completely... heh nah... but I love that you want to see more from it!"
