	The Corn Mother is found in the legends of many native american tribes and in myths from around the world. The thunderbird, stylized clouds and rain, and beadwork are based on Plains tribe imagery. 8x11 inches, acrylic and ink on illustration board

8 May 2008	Julie Raymond	Loading... Oooh, beautiful! I spent some time on the Hopi reservation in Arizona, so this is very familiar imagery to me. You have really captured the feel of this myth/tradition. It’s more realistic than the traditional tribal artwork, but you still kept that certain style to it that makes it unique. Also I like the title of the painting... ever heard of the Eric Clapton song with the same name? Very pretty song, and very fitting for this painting.
