| 10 Aug 2010 | Olivia | Loading...Very intriguing! If there was only one heart it would almost have to be located in the horse section to pump blood to the entire centaur. Two hearts might work, as long as they’re not working against each other. And the lungs... I’ll have to think about that one. They could be connected by some sort of extended esophagus from the human set to the equine set. The stomach would have to be in the horse section, and it would have to be extremely efficient and not prone to attempting to expel its contents because of the enormous amount of pressure it would be placing on the comparatively delicate human esophagus... interesting. Makes me want to come up with my own organ map.
Wonderful drawing! However, to support the human half, the human pelvis needs to be flared wider, if only to keep all the organs in place. Also, structurally, it seems like the horse part needs more vertebrae and the human part needs fewer... and maybe some lower ribs, like in the bottom part of the human portion, would be necessary to join it properly to the equine section. Overall, though, very cool and thought-provoking. | |
