Konrad Drakon

Konrad Drakon

Konrad is an adept of medieval archaeology who expresses himself through the arts of mythology and surrealism.

I was born 1982 in a nowadays small town in Southern Germany who was of old called 'Nemeta' or 'Spira' and still holds the greatest Romanic cathedral existing. I guess that's the main reason why I was intrigued to archaeology, history and comparative religious studies as a young boy, and that's exactly what I'm doing now. I'm not really concentrating on one line of art, and so I also sometimes write or sit down by the trees playing the celtic harp. My other influences are psychedelic/avantgarde music like Stille Volk, The 3rd and the Mortal and Dead Can Dance, as well as roleplaying (e.g. 'Mage - The ascension' or 'Vampire - The dark ages'), late-roman/medieval reenactment or symbolistic/surrealistic art and literature. Though excessively using mythology, orthodox art and a sometimes anthroposophic mood I see myself as an agnostic, interested in and inspired by any type of religion. If you have any questions or criticism, be sure to get an answer (sooner or later)- May you lose yourself for a while in here! KonraddrakoN

Hmmmm... at first I wasn't too sure if I liked your artistic style, but after staring at a few of the better ones, I'm really quite fond. Particularly like the more ephemeral / fuzzy ones, as they really convey a feeling of light and life-force (as it were.)

What medium do you use? Some of them seem almost chalky, mostly the coloured ones.

Some of them are a bit poe-faced and indulgently goffick, but so are many things -I- create. Good luck, and keep up the good (and original) work!

:-) Konrad Drakon replies: "In my colored works I use cheap kiddy crayons. The others are done with pencils, ballpoint-pen, edding or everything else I have at hand. So I don't care much for materials. Maybe you're right about some gothic cliches here and there- I try to limit them, but sometimes I just can't help it!"

Very very good work!!I'm proud of you...

:-) Konrad Drakon replies: "You honor me, my dear! All my blessings for being a source of inspiration and understanding through all these years. We'll unite again- whether here in May or Samothraki in summer..."

Your art is reallt quite exceptional! I truly love your gallery, the pictures are all different from one another and still there's something that combines them. Especially the coloured ones. The figures are there, and yet they seem nonexistant...A wonderful gallery yuo have here. Keep up the goog work!

/Torunn

:-) Konrad Drakon replies: "Dear Torunn, thanks for giving me such a compliment on my 'ephemeral structures', and from such a talented and interesting artist! Now I will gladly drink the dwarves wine again to reveal another part of the hidden world 12p.s. Reading Anne Rice now makes me think of your Amadeo again and again. He's wonderful!"

Teeheehee, I know something they don't know... (;

:-) Konrad Drakon replies: "In fact, some of them do... 12I'll try 'your method' of painting as soon as I'm alone again with no study stuff to do. I'm sure it will be a lucky harvest.Thanks for the look in your life, too!"
