| Just a quick little something I wrote while extremely bored in my Middle Ages class. |
|
Along the dry and muddy path
The handsome madman strolled
Whistling a tune he’d heard in the bath
And admiring the foothills that on the flat land rolled.
He blinked his eyes and saw the sights
That most men see only in dreams
The many hued dancing lights
That flash over fields and in streams.
The butterflies with arms and legs
And crimson stained mouths
The beautiful women who sing and beg
And pull the swimmer south
Oh gaze upon those faerie men
So handsome and so fine
One sweet kiss of dewy lips
And be lost inside your mind.
The madman blinks and sees again
The world as sane men see it.
A tear floats in his eyes
And he truly can’t believe it.
This safety, this delusion
That allows no faerie men
That blames gases for the lights
That lure folk to a fen.
