Galatea

Poised    and Perfect, cold

She’s chilled from her beginning

No blood to carry heat

No heart to hold passion

Personality never formed

            never thought of

       signs of emotion without feeling

Venus, goddess of love,

    how dare men call perfect

    stone carved in your image

    what good is love without

passion, gasping sighs or warm breath.

    Beauty is cold comfort

            in the witching hour

You could not stand

    for this blasphemy.

    You took the mans creation

    And gave her life,

            breath,

                passion
