| A shortish poem that my husband says is creepy. What do you think? |
|
Come closer, darling
I can’t see you in the dark
There’s so little light beneath the sea
The sun burns our skin
We can’t seem to get sunscreen
So come closer, darling
Let me look at you
There’s rarely anyone so handsome
Who comes this way anymore?
Certainly only the old salts
So come closer, my dear
I shan’t let my sisters hear
They’d want you for themselves
But I won’t let them have you
To put you on their undersea shelves
So come closer, my dear
Let me whisper in your ear
The sweet nothings I long to hear
Yes, let me put my arms around
And I’ll take you to my lair
