The Story of Creation
Back in the days when Quilid died,
The gods all marched to war
Fire and lightning filled the sky
And the land would soon be no more.
(Chorus) And round and round the new world goes
With skies so bright and full
With eight months to the year
And a sky so full of moons
The gods were all so selfish
They didn’t know what happened
While they raged for control
The world began to bend
(Chorus) And round and round the new world goes
With skies so bright and full
With eight months to the year
And a sky so full of moons
The world was going to be destroyed
And none of the gods chose to care
A handful of folk could see the end
And so began to move
They ran to the cities to warn the world
And more time to give
And round and round the new world goes
With skies so bright and full
With eight months to the year
And a sky so full of moons
Nightingale to the humans ran
To tell her tale of woe
And Bergion to the orcs
To tell them they should go
Where to go and what to do
Nobody could know.
Some of the gods could see the end
And the futility of war
They were friends and so began
To save the world of their heart
And round and round the new world goes
With skies so bright and full
With eight months to the year
And a sky so full of moons
And so they ran, these friends of ours
To warn the people of our world
That the world was about to end
And they should pack what they could
And round and round the new world goes
With skies so bright and full
With eight months to the year
And a sky so full of moons
Ahead of us were sent
Four unsuspecting heroes
To carve the world where we would live
And give us all a home
And round and round the new world goes
With skies so bright and full
With eight months to the year
And a sky so full of moons
And Lady Lark and Dropthor went to the warring gods
To ask for help in building this world that we call ours
And Lady Lark went to Shade
And asked for something soon
And Shade said, “To go away,
I’ll give you a fistful of moons.”
And round and round the new world goes
With skies so bright and full
With eight months to the year
And a sky so full of moons
The moons were hung in the sky
And thirteen by number there were
To match the dueling suns
And keep the nights bright all year.
And round and round the new world goes
With skies so bright and full
With eight months to the year
And a sky so full of moons
But Arcania was a jealous sort and her gift too she gave
“Magic will go to this world but a price must be paid.”
And while these gods were at their work
The land began to grow
And the places that we live
Our heroes began to know
And round and round the new world goes
With skies so bright and full
With eight months to the year
And a sky so full of moons
And the rivers of fingers
Were brought to be
And the inimical islands
Brought in the sea
And round and round the new world goes
With skies so bright and full
With eight months to the year
And a sky so full of moons
Nightingale thought to help
And brought her powers here
Her hands were opened and they brought
Water to the sea
And round and round the new world goes
With skies so bright and full
With eight months to the year
And a sky so full of moons
And Bergion came and lit the fires of the hearth
To be set inside houses and in the heart of the earth
The gods they saw that is was good
And just in the nick of time
For Moongate was almost gone
And the people were walking a very thin line
And round and round the new world goes
With skies so bright and full
With eight months to the year
And a sky so full of moons
The people were brought unto this land
And made their homes a new
The landscape was very different
And their number was so few
And round and round the new world goes
With skies so bright and full
With eight months to the year
And a sky so full of moons
But here we are to make our home
And starting over ain’t so hard
Not with our heroes watching out
And keeping us in their hearts
And round and round the new world goes
With skies so bright and full
With eight months to the year
And a sky so full of moons
And round and round the new world goes
With skies so bright and full
With eight months to the year
And a sky so full of moons
