"Broken Hope"

Why doth my heart of gold lie so deep down?
From whence it came; from whence it depart'd.
Revealing its true nature to my crown;
The bloody thorns that pierces my one heart.
From me, the tears of the doomed world have sprung,
From me, echoes a lonesome cry of hope.
The once bright-eyed star begins a slow run
Desperately heading for the long slope
Arms reaching out; arms beckoning to me.
My heart of a star can take no more pain
They grab my tattered robes. "Please set us free!"
"I cannot save those of you who are slain."
Now their hope has faded; forever torned
Piercing my heart-a crown of bloody thorns.

25 Nov 2003	Yuki Erika Radcliffe	Loading... Well, this wasn't very happy, but what could i have expected after reading the title? I liked this poem very much. The rhyming scheme is great, and it's not forced like the rhyming of many other poems i've read. It's so sad, but hey, sad is good, right? oh yeah. ::First comment tango:: Christina Lee replies: "Thanks!!! I'm glad you like the rhyming, it's my first attempt in a long time. ^_^"
