| 26 Sep 2003 | Bryn Elizabeth Lepley | Loading...Oooo... that's so sad? Who is the person if their God abandoned them? This poem is dark... but it seems like it has a story behind it all... does it? very beatiful... another freestyle! And you know that I love freestyle! ^.^ Christina Lee replies: "Yay! I'm glad you like this! I sort of made it as if Dante, the person in the poem, was kind of like the abandoned souls' God. In my last stanza though, he turns out to be a normal person who just happened to be preaching to an imaginary audience that perhaps was not there at all. If that sounds confusing...I'm not a good explainer of things. ^_^" | |

| 23 Jul 2004 | Michael S. LaReaux | Loading...Is "Dante" an allusion to Dante Alligheri? Cause in the Divine Comedy, Dante eventually reaches heaven and meets Beatrice and she's supposed to represent the salvific nature of women (Virgin Mary, and all of that.) The poem has some nice bits, especially the last stanza. Thanks! | |
