I felt my gallery needed an Angel since I am Christian and a believer in Angels. (pencil-2004)

This is a very good picture but the whole reason why you drew the pictuer is wrong. Yes you can draw things that is to deal with your religion, but angels are not only associated with christianty it is also associated with Wicca so don't draw pictuers just because of your religion. but for the other things i wanted to say, it is a very good drawing, keep up your good work.

Heather Harmon replies: "  I did not draw it for that reason...thats just the reason I decided to post it because I did not think it was very good. I drew this angel a while ago and had just never posted it til now...so I did not draw it just because I wanted an angel picture I just posted it for that reason if that makes any sense."

Although the previous commenter does have a point he or she could have worded it a little more politely. And I have a feeling that he or she was just a drive-by commenter because when I clicked on the link I got a 404 error indicating that the web-site was no longer available. Anyways, I think that the angel is very well done in the details and symmetry. However, your angel is holding a sword, which in traditional Jewish-Christian belief would classify this as an Arch-Angel. In some of the mythological stories I've read it's said that Arch-Angels are God's warriors always ready to fight evil and defend the innocent. They are sometimes depicted with black wings and clad in armor. The Angels that are depicted wearing white robes with white glowing wings are the ones that guide living humans and escort the souls of the dead to their final place of rest in heaven. Just thought that I'd throw in a little information that you may or may not be aware of. Just in case you might do other related art.

Whatever, even though info and insight is great your pic is your own from your own inspiration. Who cares what different angels are "suppose" to look like, or what religious beliefs you have. The art is about what you felt was in your soul and needed to be expressed.
Gaw!
Anyway, it is great. I don't know how to shade well, so kuddos.

I like her. Nice expression on her face, and I love the wings. I also like the novel idea of a cross-shaped hilt.
