In several mythologies the Phoenix is often depicted as a bird of fire rising from the ashes of it's former life. It's the pinnacle of re-incarnation. I live in Arizona and the city of Phoenix was actually named that because it was built on the ruins on the ancient Hohokam Indian civilization. All of the city's symbols show a flaming bird. Just thought I would throw in that little history factoid for you. If you decide to color it you could add some fire-like coloring around the feathers. Then the name would be more apt. | |
