| 27 Jul 2006 | Karen Yasmeen Barton | Loading...ok so you've gotten enough wow's I think, so let me be the "bad" one and actually give you some criticism. (hopefully so you can improve) Ok so there is a nice level of detail, and as it happens to many artist you focused a lot on something an forgot about the other, what's the other? Light! yeah, your dragon/crocodile could use some direct light, because there is not enough levels of shading in it, resulting in it looking slightly flat. Second the mouth, it's slightly open which means you would see some of the background, but also some of the side of the mouth. Maybe you did put it in but it's not pronounced enough, we should be able to see a little tounge maybe or the other teeth. the yes could also use a little more gleam. I know it's stippling which is obviously time consuming, so I appreciate the effort. Krystal Tyler replies: "You're not a "bad one" for giving criticism. How else can we improve?Yeah, I seriously need to work on making my pictures not look so flat. Lighting definitely helps, though I need to work on other stuff to make it look more 3-D as well. I'm hesitant to do direct lighting because I'm not very good at it, but then again, that's probably why I'm still not good at it: I don't try it! I'll work on it.... :-]There are some teeth from the other side of the jaws in there but none of the jaw itself. Probably should've put some in....Thanks for the critiques! Don't hesitate to tell me what's wrong with a picture. I'm very much an amateur and need all the help I can get! :-]" | |
