I wanted to see how hard dragon wings could be in pen, so I drew this little guy. I usually forget to do cool things like stripes/splotches, too - somehow I rememberd to try it with this picture.

Looks great, having the little "extras" always makes them more life-like, I think all your experience with dino's has helped a great deal in that area!

ooh, neat! Scales, stripes, details, yikes! The motion's very beautiful, tho I'd liked to have seen his head raised a bit more. I love how the wings are nicely spread out and move their way into the pic. A great inking job I'd say, tho I do wonder what kinda pen you used.

:-) Krystal Tyler replies: "The brand name is Millenium, I think. It's just a "normal" art pen (to me), nib and all. Does that help any?"

Mm, the head should probably be pointing forward a bit more to add some balance, but other than that I think this looks great. The stripes are a nice touch.

Whoa. Thats alot of detail. Very good. I love the body, the wings are great too, but the flank that faces us (as the adoring fans) seems a bit big, more of a mammal-like shape. Well, just my opinion. The rest of it looks great.

:-) Krystal Tyler replies: "Hmm... Yeah, it is a bit large...the fatty. lol Then again, what if dragons are warm-blooded...? *shrugs* Oh, well. Thanks for the comment!"

Very nice conception. Equal to your best here.

Wonderful, I love the stripes....

It's a velociraptor with wings! I am in awe of your talent. I've just started drawing fantasy creatures myself and, although I'm great with detail on PEOPLE, my dragons look like cartoons... very "young" in detail there, I'd say. I have to say I'm jealous now. Yep. Jealous. I'm gonna go cry over the injustices of the world that some should have such talent but not ME! Waaah! Keep up the good work. If I can't draw it, I at least find comfort in the fact I can see it all here. BB, Nichole

it’s good but by the position it’s in it looks as if it is landing not taking off. the head pointing down shows it is concentrating on where it is landing and if it were taking off it’s head would be looking ahead, but hey that’s just my opinion.
