The dark times of elf wizards and warriors was a time of hate, deceit and lies. There were wild elves running free and killing what ever came in their path. Faeries that didn't go into hiding were captured by elves and cruely changed into imps and creatures of the dark.
There was an elf called Kolanthe. He was once of the Elves of Light, until the rebelion happened. He realized that the only way to survive would be to seperate himself from all good. Four years of no peace and only witnessing tragedy, Kolanthe himself became a dark elf. But after he learned that an enemy clan of dark elves had killed off every last Elf of Light he wanted revenge.
He sought out the Elves of Hands (so named, because of their nature to help other elves with out any reason at all) in the deepest part of Sanctum, within the mountains. It took him a year of wandering in the caves until he finally came upon the Great Gate. Being in a state of hunger and thirst, the Elves of Hands brought him in, despite the black glow about him. Nursing him back to health, the Elves of Hands descovered his previous identity as an Elf of Light. They advised against his thirst for revenge, saying revenge was evil, but they taught and trained him, none the less, because he made a deal with them. The deal was, if they trained him well and he learned all he needed to know to defeat as much evil in the land as he could and gave him a small army to help, he would tell them the last bit of knowledge the Elves of Light left with him, before their fall.
The years rolled by quickly and Kolanthe learned wisdom and skill. He became a Wizard Elf.
Knowing the exact location of the Dark Elf King, when the time came, the Elves of Hands got a she-elf named Valrina to lead him to him. They painted on his chest the symbol of wisdom and streangth, the bears paw print.
They traveled for monthes in the mountains and forests with their small army of elves. They lost thirty elves just because of the wild elves they encountered along the way. When they reached the place of the Dark Elf King, Kolanthe went on alone.
He was big and had a dark glow, the evil king. He faced Kolanthe with a smirk. Kolanthe smirked back...for he knew he had a secret weapon: magic. The Dark Elf King threw a blind fold at him. Kolanthe stared at it in disbelief.
"What's the matter, elf?" The Dark Elf King snarled, "Afraid of a challenge?"
Kolanthe sneered. "Never," he said, "Challenge is my favorite word." With one last sum up of the king, he put the blind fold on. As he was putting it on, he unterstood what was so strange about the king...charged, armed with a blade that had jagged edges and strangely angled hooks on it. Kolanthe didn't flinch.
For the sake of the audience, Kolanthe made the battle last longer than it would have. While the Dark Elf King had the advantage of size and force, Kolanthe had the power of magic.
Kolanthe became the king of Wizards, but he lived with the dark truth hanging over him constantly. He was a cheater...ad he cheated in two ways. The Dark Elf King hadn't known Kolanthe's weapon was magic....and...well....he lifted up one side of his blind fold during the battle because he was never taught to use magic blindly. He thought it was quite funny though.
Just a quick sketch to get my mind off things, that turned into a big project...yep.
