I wanted to try out oil pastels. Started with two black lines and the rest followed, I am pretty satisfied with it.

The way that you used the color in this gives the dragon a lot of weight and mass, it really does look like its a portion of a large powerful creature. It really makes me curious what the rest of the dragon looks like.

:-) Koen Van Huynegem replies: "It is probably a hughe and fearsome dragon, don't think I will draw the rest of his body, in this way I let everybody guess how it could be, and it would not be a closeup of a dragons eye if I draw the rest ;p But think BIG, think FEAR, think DRAGON! Now fly you fools before he gets you LOL"

Cool pic. Really like this close up view of a dragon, not something you see all that often. You've achieved it really effectively too - I like the ridges in the skin around its eyes, and the shading. Gives it depth. Great work!

3 Koen Van Huynegem replies: "THANK YOU for your lovely comment means a lot to me!!!"

So far this is my favorite. I have a huge and rather strange fascination with eyes and the detail in this is great. I love the species chosen as well, I'm a big fan of dragons. ^o^ Never stop drawing, you're artwork is lovely.

3 Koen Van Huynegem replies: "I will not stop drawing!! Hopefully you will find other favorites in my gallery. Thaks for stopping by. Greetz Koen"

I should be the last person to say this, but I think he could use some red to help round him out.

To all out there.... particularly Anonymous!

Ok, I like this artwork and I've looked at the rest and it is all great! Well done, I think the eye is fab, particularly as i cant draw them myself *sob of jealousy*

It takes a lot of guts to set yourself up on the web, showing all your work, and even more to accept comments from others. The point of having comments is to allow people to feel better about their work, and give CONSTRUCTIVE criticism only! For people who have no life like "anonymous", go home. The rest of the world have better things to do than listen to your pessimism - don't crush the spirit of a genuinely good artist.
