Quick sketch of my latest roleplaying character from a campaign called 'The Elvencrown', elven bard and adventurer Mhiriyel Ithilindír (which is Sindarin for 'Moonsinger'). The runes on the bottom part of the frame say 'Mhiriyel' in Tolkien elven runes.
Pencil.

I really like the background, and the hair is great! Just work on your hands; the rest will be awesome!

:-) Kristina 'Aryana' Siers replies: "Thanks!Hands. My everlasting problem. Hands. Can someone teach me how to draw HANDS???"

He's just wonderful. Through the years I can see that your skill increasing, but you do not loose your unique style. Keep on I love your art.

:-) Kristina 'Aryana' Siers replies: "Thanks so much! I'm glad that you see my particular style in my art. But I really try to improve on anatomy. 2"

This is beautiful! Wonderful detail work, esp. with the border design.

:-) Kristina 'Aryana' Siers replies: "Thanks so much! I tried on some celtic knotwork, but it only came to "ayrana-design knotwork". I'm too lazy..."

You have done a nice job on this. I really like the all little details that you gave this. The frame looks great, I love the vine looking Celtic knots that are snaking around, and that you have your character exceeding beyond the borders of the frame.

:-) Kristina 'Aryana' Siers replies: "Thanks! The frame was an experiment, they're usually not my style, but I think I could get used to doing them, it was fun!"

Late, but at least! ^^ I love this pencil picture. The pencil fits very good here, because the mood of the pic is so melancholic, as looks the chara. Melancholic and romantic! Great work again!

:-) Kristina 'Aryana' Siers replies: "Hiiiiiii! I'm glad to see you around here again finally! *hugs*Happy you like him, he's one of my most favourite characters now!"

Uh, I haven't commented here yet! He really looks a little bit softer than the other picture, the pencil drawing fits to this picture an catches the melancholy of his song!

:-) Kristina 'Aryana' Siers replies: "Thank you again!"

OK...I have to give you some constructive crits on this one...

I feel like this is more of a starting sketch, than a finished piece. All the drawing is loose and rough...and the proportions on the arms are all wrong...the angle of his head is also really harsh. I know it's easier to draw a face in profile...but I get a crick in my neck, just looking at him.

I'd love to see you use this image as the rough draft...then go back in and work on defining the details and cleaning up the design...as well as fixing the arms. I'd like to see more smooth and even lines for the Celtic knotwork of the border too.

With a little work, you'd have a really lovely portrait. The layout and design are very good. Hope my crit wasn't too harsh and that you find it helpful! *smiles*

:-) Kristina 'Aryana' Siers replies: "2Thanks again, Wendy! No, I always appreciate cc, and it was not too hard. I know that the anatomy of the arms is totally off. I used a renaissance picture of an angel lute player as a reference, but you are right, this IS more or less a rough sketch. I just did not finish it because I was anxious to ruin more than to make things better, so I think this Mhiriyel will stay as he is and I try to draw a totally new version of this pic when I have the time. In a way I like this wone, so I decided to put it up. And I know I really, REALLY have to work on my hands. Need a tutorial... or a wooden hand model, but the things are so darn expensive...Thanks for the CC again!"
