SciFi and Fantasy Art Request: Alphaeus by Kristina ´Aryana´ Siers


	This is a request picture I did for Eleanor (see my start page for the link to her gallery). She requested a picture of her demon of cold, winter and ice, Alphaeus, and that's what came out as I tried to draw him. I'm not quite happy with his face (Eleanor just told me that she imagined him more pixie-like) and body proportions, but I like the colors. Pencil, markers and colored pencils.

1 Jun 2004	Kerstin ´kolibri´ Eiben	Loading... He's nice Ever tried pastels for backgrounds? They have a plain and smooth effect and don't look 'chaotic' like markers. You can use them like charcoal (? war das jetzt das richtige Wort für 'Kohle'...?...) Kristina 'Aryana' Siers replies: "grins Yes, charcoal is the right word...but maybe you were thinking about pastels which I used on the background in the "Blueflame" picture. I always forget that I could use mixed media. gnah Maybe I redo the background to get out all the irregularities in color. "
24 Aug 2004	Wendy Bittnerová	Loading... I like you demon of cold...I don't think he'd be very demonic if he seemed more pixie-like...I especially like his blue skin and pointy tail. This was one of the fiorst art tzrade oics I did with only having a brief description about the character, no reference pictures. I was not really contented with the pic, but I still like it."

29 Oct 2004	Whiskers	Loading... It's just his feet that are a little short. There's nothing wrong with his face. Cold and frost-pointy. Kristina 'Aryana' Siers replies: "Thanks! I agree, his feet are too small for the body. gnah, I've always problems with that! "
19 Jan 2005	J. Oliver	Loading... I like his face. I think it's really cool! I love his eyes. The body proportions are a bit off (bottom half of his legs are too short) and his right arm looks stiff because it's straight out behind him but isn't supporting any weight. I think he's very striking. Melikes! Kristina 'Aryana' Siers replies: "Thanks! I agree on the legs, the bottom half is really too short. Such things I always see, when it's too late. Same for the arm. "
