Depth into a picture is very important, and good shading helps this. ‘Loneliness’ is a very good example of shading. Pick the spot of your light source. Sometimes smudging pencil lines with your finger (or whatever) makes the shading look kind of muddy. Sometimes this is good but for rough textured surfaces, you may want to use fine crosshatching or lines. Try shading in more of your pictures and it will give them more life. So far you are doing a wonderful job. Keep it up! | |
