Lavilia Starfire; chapter 11 War.
Narolas, Gierofin and Iemanor lead the first companies. Lavilia walked somewhere in the back. She didn't want to be confronted with Baran. She couldn't bear to see his face again. The elves and humans marched to Giviano. The helmets and the armour shimmered in the sun. Most of the goblins were near Grivor, so there were fights on the way.
Denny heard a rumour about the red princess, that she had returned from wherever she went. He smiled, the red princess was one of the names they called Lavilia. She usually hated that name, for it was mostly used in Maranithor, Denny thought about Lavilia would probably never go there again. Too many bad memories. He left Gierofin to search her.
It didn't take long to find her. This time she wasn't covered in a cape, and her red hair shimmered in the sun. She looked far away. Denny walked over to her, avoiding marching soldiers. They came near Giviano when Denny finally reached her.
"Hey you are back" He said. Lavilia nodded. "I like the way your hair is around your head" Denny smiled. Lavilia smiled back. They marched on without talking. Denny was glad Lavilia joined the army, her willpower made other soldiers fight harder.
Giviano was nothing more that a burning city when the army arrived. They started fighting right away. Soon all the goblins were dead or had fled, some elves chased them. Narolas told the soldiers to bury the brothers who didn't survive. Lavilia sat in a tree, she watched the people, she didn't see a thing, for she was thinking.
Denny helped burying, some of the fallen elves he knew, but most of them he hadn't. Within a short period all the dead elves and human had gotten a grave. Gierofin ordered to regroup the troops of soldiers and walk after him. Lavilia jumped out of the tree and lead her companion. The elves respected her, though they didn't understand her. They appreciated her courage and speed. Denny joined his own companion again.
The army headed for Faran, Narolas wanted to challenge Baran and defeat him once and for all. It wasn't difficult to find Moron Naur, it was a huge palace complex in the middle of Faran. There were no trees and plants in Faran, it was all dead, and the only animals that lived were spying animals like rats and ravens. Lavilia didn't feel comfortable anymore, even though she had been living there for years. None of the goblins reached her companion so Lavilia wasn't afraid of getting recognized.
Even if someone would remember who she was, Moron Naur was under attack, Baran wouldn't come out of Moron Naur just to kill Lavilia. Lavilia was pretty sure he would have plenty of things to be concerned about. The period after the war wasn't even in Lavilia's thoughts, she would be dead, if Baran would win, or be killed defending the rest of the elves who did won the war, or alive and then Baran wouldn't be a serious threat anymore.
The only problem that rose was the keepers of the night. Even if their master would be destroyed they would still hunt the friends of the Vandar. Baran's power could not be undone, he would always have people fighting for his name. Those people hated everyone Baran hated and they would kill her someday.
The soldiers of her companion were okay fighters, but the best of the army was more upfront. The dark landscapes of Faran depressed Lavilia, she felt the suffering and pain she had been through, the landscapes reminded her of that. It made her hate Baran even more. Some of the humans walked more slowly. The air in Faran wasn't clean, it was a mix of bad smells and ashes. Lavilia marched on, most of the humans who had been scared regained their courage, by her attitude.
The land looked abandoned. Lavilia knew most of the Goblins were near Moron Naur. They weren't scared of the elves, they knew the power of Baran would protect them. Baran was under the bad influence of Baniar. Baniar had always hated the elves. Now Baniar was locked behind the end of the world, Baran would defend what Baniar had believed.
The closer they got to the middle of Faran, the thicker the air became. Breathing got harder and the smoke was dark. You couldn't see the sky. Every piece of what the Vandar created was destroyed by the goblins. Lavilia recognized the landscapes of no hope, everything that once was beautiful had left these countries.
The army stood still, the front of the army had reached Moron Naur. The huge armies of Goblins stood in front of them on the hills in front of the black palace. They looked angrily at the elves and humans.
The elves stared back
The fight began. Narolas and Giviano fought Baran, but that was far away from Lavilia. She fought the goblins, it was a horrible war. Goblins, elves, dwarves and men were killed. No mercy was shown. Lavilia saw the army of blackelves coming down the hills. Lavilia moved forward she was the only one who really knew what the blackelves could do. They were dangerous, more dangerous than most knew.
Morgianioth had trained them. Morgianioth was the best fighter Lavilia knew, although he had never won from her. She looked closely, to find him in the group. Enough had fallen, she wouldn't let anyone die under his hand. He wasn't there!
Were on earth could he be? Lavilia searched on for him, she got further away from the army. Suddenly lots of Goblins surrounded her. "An elf", one said, spitting on the ground. "Completely alone" Another said.
They hadn't count on Lavilia's sword.

The story is progressing very well, and you are maturing as a writer. As I was reading I was getting some excellent visuals of the action, because your writing is becoming more descriptive. It's a pleasure to get back to your story. Rian Sanderse

Your writing is really improving every chapter.
It can't be an easy thing at all, not writing in your first language. So good on you, Rian! Rian Sanderse
replies: "well, I have to use english also for my study, so I do a lot of things in English nowadays. Writing more and more in English. I haven't written in a while though, way too busy with other stuff.
