"At the beginning" by Veronika ´Lawenta´ Prokesova

My gods! What make that anonymous one and Vill think, that she looks like me??? I was petrified when I read it!
Anyway... I am full of criticism when it comes to your pictures, so I actually don't know why you want me to write you here. But you want it, you deserve it, you get it. So I will write only about whole picture not the details (I am too picky, sometimes even Honza Knýbel hasn't enough talent for my taste. You know what am I like...)

This one is full of meaning. I see spiral there which I have bind to begin and also the end, life and death in my inner mythology. (Maybe you remember that spiral is sigil of Thanatos and his brother Tarnaron) There is also spiritual crown, sharp as every crown of creation and wisdom, sharp because Lya must be sometimes cruel too. (we both know what I am talking about)
First I saw it, word "sadness" came to my mind, but I think she is only focused to something. To Lyongeas of course
And I must say: This is too young Lya )) I used to see her much more... how to say it... "adult" is silly word... "roayalish" (is there such word in english?)... much more looking like something between wise queen and your own mom (don't laugh so loudly )
I can write ad infinitum... it must be enough for you now.

I dare to say that you KNOW I like your drawing, even when I always say things like: "This is weird, where he is supposed to has his left arm? She has too long arm, too short body and what about this belly???" I am pedant, take it easy little sister Just keep swimming! ))

(I wish I´d be able to depict dear Thanatos some day.) // And yes, Lya seems very young here; partly I just wasn´t able to portray her another way, partly I think it fits nicely with this "beginning" motif. But hey, do you think, when she tries to catch some handsome parther among the mortals, that she doesn´t look that young? // And I was laughing *very* quietly My mom is the Queen, after all ;-) // And thanks, most of the time I know you like my art (and many other things that are important for me), but sometimes my little nasty complexes prevail. I don't know how exactly describe my feelings about this picture, because, how it was said, it looks too much as Gwen to me. And this should suggest me.
OK. I always imagined that Lya is much ancestral, but this is only cultural influence, I think. Goodness of live and nature should be so vital as this being evoke to be, and so ambivalent - beautiful, tempting, pleasant... and cruel, cold and rough.
I can only say that I'm secretly envious of your drawing skill.

I love the colors! They are so warm, like the goddess. She looks so kind, so gentle.

Hmm, now that I look at it again, there is already some shading on her face... perhaps my monitor setting is too bright?

Veronika 'Lawenta' Prokesova replies: "Probably it's both bright monitor setting on your side and too gentle shading on my side. I'm a great coward when it comes to shading And yes, she is dancing. Or at least her spirit is, which is the same as her as depicted here, for I doubt she wore a physical form back in those times Thank you for a very nice comment!"

The colors in this are gorgeous, as is the flow of the whole picture and her pose, almost as if she's dancing. The "crown" above her head is an interesting touch too, symbolic of a ruler and creator. Her face could perhaps look even better with a little more shading, but all in all this is a great and creative pic- good job!

This is a beautifully illustrated piece. I really like your use of color and how smoothly it flows together. *oooo pretty*
