Hehe, I had fun when I did this one. It was a contest entry on VHR (Virtual Horse Ranch, an online sim horse game). I love playing around with fantasy horse colors! :D

Great pic, although sometimes moderators are weird... I once tried to post a painting of a golden guinea pig, and it was rejected, and it said that animals with weird colours aren't fantasy.

7 Linda Kristoffersson replies: "Yep, sometimes the moderators gives you funny reasons to why pictures are rejected. I published a golden colored arabian pic at the same time as this one, and got a message saying this: "brindle.jpg and goldenarabian.jpg were rejected because they contain no visible elements of science fiction or fantasy. Strangely coloured horses that are otherwise normal are just not fantasy-ish enough for Elfwood, even if they are from a sim game."And further down the page: "==> brindle.jpg is OK (Published!)==> goldenarabian.jpg was rejected! Reason: Does not fit in this area." Makes me a bit confuzzled, to say the least..."

Well, I've taken riding lessons before. And while I only got around them 1 day a week, they were all quarter horses, and ALL of them had front legs liek this. A bit too short for artistic nit-pickers to like, but yeah.. they looked a lot like this horse. Very, very nice work. I would say the hooves are too small as well, but hey... what do I know about.. *reads picture real quick* Dutch Warmbloods anyways, right? ^.~

Conformation and realistic look wise, this is very very good. my only critique is that the front legs are a tad bit too short and you gave him some midget hooves the overall shape is there, but they should be slightly longer. of all the hooves, the right hind is closest to what you want on all four, though he appears to have the same conformation flaw that my riding teacher's thoroughbred mare has: feet that are too small. not to short, feet too small to comfortably hold his weight. overall, that was my only problem with the entire picture. very nice, keep up the good work, you made the purpleish color look real! I applaud you, and I hope you took that as constructive criticism, not nit picking.. being around horses 6 days a week kinda makes you pick out little details easier.. though I still don't have much of an eye for conformation..

I think they have a soft spot for horses when it comes to admitting "normal" animals as fantasy ;o) This is really awesome...despite it's wild colors it still looks so realistic! If you have a lot of time sometime you should try making a realistic background setting to put it in...I bet it would look almost like a photograph 19) Love the shiny purple...I want a horse just like this!

Absolutely perfect confirmation... it could be a photograph.

Who cares what the moderators think! *grumbles* If only there were real-life colors like this. I would pay a pretty penny for a coat color like this! (purple is my fav color)
