  | Character name: Katherine (Kat) Elizabeth Willinghem. Mutant Name: Vampire Bat. Abilities/powers: Echolocation; Flight; Heightened senses. Age: 18. General appearances: Caucasian; Light tan; Shoulder length black hair, normally slicked back against skull; Completely black eyes; 5 foot tall; Very small/light build. Additional appearance: Large leathery wings connecting from wrists, along back to base of spine; Enlarged canine teeth/fangs; Sharp curved black nails. Normally seen wearing heavily tinted sunglasses to hide her pure black eyes, and a large black, wide sleeved trench coat to cover her wings. Personality: Cheerful, out going, straight to the point, even tactless at times. Has a very happy and joyful view on life, despite missing one of her main senses. She does not believe herself ‘cursed’ or ‘disabled’ by her lack of sight, as she certainly makes up for it with her enhanced other senses, and her mutant power – echolocation. Having to put up with abuse from others about both her mutant powers and lack of sight, Kat learnt to mask it with humour, and deals to most situations with it, but she will snap if she is pushed too far. Enjoys experiencing life to the maximum, and always up for fun, even if it has high risks involved. She also is constantly using her echolocation to ‘see’ around her. Special Skills: Able to identify the smallest sound or smell as long as she has heard/smelt it before, making her excellent at identifying people in the immediate area. Trained in self-defense and her own form of fencing, which she uses her cane for. Place of birth: London, England Weapon(s) of choice: Staff/cane - which is also used to find her way around - with a fencing sword hidden inside the shaft. Medical information: Was born blind. Brief History: Having been born with her physical appearance and totally blind, Katherine was home schooled for most of her life, rarely allowed out. When she was it gave her a chance to expand her senses and gain experience of the outside world, adapting to it fast. One of her main mutant powers – echolocations – decreased the stress and limitations her lack of vision came with, almost giving the appearance that she had a ‘sixth sense’ to anyone who did not know of her mutant abilities. A love for flying gave Katherine a fearless and reckless streak in her, often disappearing during the night to go out and fly, using her echolocation to find her way around. Katherine is my RPG character in an X-Men RPG in Elftown. I wanted a character that was slightly different, thus being blind. But it does make it her a challenge to play. Yet fun. Photoshop. |
