The axe only looks small because it has become the custom to draw weapons oversized. The grip may be a little narrow compared to the head and the dwarf's hand but it is probable the nearest to true scale of your weapons.

Don't let this comment change the way you normally draw weapons. That way is what people expect so is right for them.
