You can really see on Luthien's face how much she is in love with Beren and tat she would do anything to be with him even for just a short while. So romantic, I just love it.

20 Oct 2007	David Michael	Loading... Gosh, makes me feel so lonely. But for a picture, that's a good thing. It means you've done an awesome job of showing how in love they are with very simple means. Monochrome was a good idea, and purple paper was an even better idea: it simultaneously communicates love, passion, quiet tranquility, and evening. I particularly love the trees and Luthien's dress.

They truly have eyes only for each other in it. I also like how you used a soft, shaded, use of pencils; it really brings a dreamy feel to the work. Also your use of purple paper makes me believe it’s really a twilight evening that the two lovers are enjoying.

This is a perfect reindition of Beren Erchamion and Luthien Tinuviel; the atmosphere you’ve created totally fitts them as a couple, with it’s perfect, yet fleeting, yet immortal, feeling to it, and I think Tolkien would have loved it too. You know, ’The Lay of Leithian’, was his favorite story, because he based the characters of Luthien and Beren, after himself and his beloved wife Edith, and he also used their love story, as the foundation for Luthien and Beren’s. In fact, after Edith died, Tolkien had Luthien placed on his tombstone, and when he died, Beren was placed on his.
