Anime IS a style of animation originating in Japan. No not all anime is the same it does vary but most do have a likeness to each other. I beleave it does have a anime/magna look to it but when most people think of anime they think of the way Sailor moon looks im guessing thats why some people here dont think this is anime. I think it looks great its good coloring and i love the hair. great work

This is beautiful no matter what style it is. The shading is quite good. I love the floatiness and the way she seems to be drifting around. Congats on the Mods ^-^

yep Human dictionary is right. and the first commentor is also right, although more rude than anything. Anyways when you say anime your talking about animation. The style your refering to is called Manga. but although you made a mistake on what style you were refering to, You didn’t in your illustration. Very nicely done, it’s clean and creative. But not very Manga. Don’t try to adopt a style make your own. You’ll be a better artist for it.

:-) Lela M. Rajak replies: "Sorry for the really late reply. I guess I should never have written Anime 2 I like it though."

Actually I being a manga artist myself I would have to say you're not to far off. Try rounder eyes, and different anatamy. most anime characters, especially young ones are six head hieght, which means her body in total (including head) is six time the length of the head. the hands hang to about one head length (sometiems more) below the waist. Commonly in anime females are over drawn sexually which you may or may not like, but is comonly atributed to this visual style. the fact is... you work is TOO good. I disagree with the former posters, this is definately in grand manga style which you fing varies GREATLY. For examples of classic manga check out the manga (comic) or anime (animation) called Astro Boy. Then check out Speed Racer and Battle of the planets for the more styilized cartoons of the 70's. Then look into the animations Cowboy Bebop, and Dragon Ball Z for modern. And for ultra Modern highly stylized manga check out the artist Hiyo(Sp?) Miyazaki and his animations spirited away, porco rosso, and princess mononoke. You'll be happy you checked these out even if you decide you don't like anime because they're all around good art and story/character development.

Very nice, i know us japanese are more emotionally closed
off as western people are so open, but in japan it is the secrecy of the true heart to not let your composure down, but i can saftly say your pic is great
