| This is a slightly weird story. Please note that there is know such constellation |
|
If you look in the sky where the sun would sit at noontime,
on the longest day of summer, among all the constellations,
you will see a horse trotting peacefully among the stars.
If you stay up late enough, you will hear wails and shrieks of despair.
The story of this strange occurrence happened many eons ago.
Helios had a horse he favoured more than any other.
This horse's name was Tartarpyro.
Now when Phaeton begged to drive the sun chariot for a day, Helios posed one condition.
Not to have Tartarpyro in the horse team.
But Phaeton felt confident, and happily chained the horse to the chariot with all the others.
Soon, as you know, he lost control of the horses.
Zeus threw down thunderbolts to control the stampede across the sky.
The ones he threw, two in number, hit Phaeton and Helios' faithful steed.
Helios wept for both, but only one made it to the sky.
So when you see this peaceful creature in the sky, spare a thought for Phaeton and Helios.
