| 4 Dec 2006 | Ano Nymous | Welcome to Elfwood!
First a quick howto to get lots of comments:
Most people that read stories and give feedback are also Elfwood members. Elfwood is a community. More or less anonymous people that wander through the wood, but are no part of it, like me, are quite rare.
Then you need to know about the culture of returning the favour of giving feedback. So to put two and two together, the best way to get constructive feedback is to go out and post comments on other people's work. Even if they don't go read your work and give feedback in return, you still would have left behind a link to your page.
Reading other people's work and think about how the story could be improved is a good way of learning how to edit your own work, as it will give more insight in the technical side of writing. Good constructive feedback is wonderful for the writer, increases the chance that the writer will read your work too, and that wandering people that visit that writer's page regularly will follow the link to your page and start reading.
So wander through the wood, read stories and make friends. But most of all, have fun writing. | |
