| 20 Dec 2001 | Charlotte Ahlgren | Loading...somebody already pointed this out, but I have to say it anyways... Those teeth are herbivore teeth. Otherwise great job. (Take it from me, I studied palaeontology! lol) I *love* these skeletal sketches of mythical beasts! | |

The detail of the skeleton is beautiful (well, as much as a skeleton can be). One thing though, To support that huge bovine head, the legs and hooves would have to be much bigger, wouldn't they? It just seems a tad bit top heavy. Besides that incredibly minor detail, AWESOME.
| 26 Jan 2002 | Katsuri | Loading...I've heard Minotaurs are only male and prey on human females.and those teeth can be used for meat eating.take a look at human teeth, humans have dull grinding teeth, and yet they eat meat.oh,and as to that "ever been bitten by a cow?",i'd say the same for a horse,it HURTS. | |

I have truly enjoyed your work and found myself in awe at practicaly every picture. the only thing i see wrong in this particualr piece, is the particular way one might precieve the minnotaur. As i have always understood it in my studies of mythology and lore, the minnotaur was like the centaur in that it had four legs, only being that of a bull instead of a horse, ad had the torso and head of a man, tho sometimes of the bull itself.. but this is still wonderfuly done
| 11 Jun 2002 | Sunblast | Loading...Wow, this picture's great. I love the little Scientific description, too. Nice how you used so much of the history of Minotaurs when you did this. I'd have to say I've heard a Minotaur's teeth going either way, but I prefer the idea of herbivore teeth. Also, my perception of minotaurs shows them on two hooves, unlike centaurs. That's what makes centaurs unique. | |
| 10 Feb 2004 | Slite <jason@hhi...net | Loading...*clapping sound* well done. this is a beautiful picture. You are obviously a special case it looks like you have cropped several different skeletons and simply used photoshop to add them together. That was not an accusation it was a compliment on your artistic ability with the assumption that you did indeed draw it. Now then to respond to the misconceptions above (i saw many and I hope you will forgive me for answering them myself) the teeth: youare all correct in noticing the teeth are indeed those of an herbivore, however the minotaur is both a bull and man. is it that strange then that it would have a bulls teeth? Believe me, itis not difficult to shred flesh with molars. if youdisagree try eating a hamburger without them sometime. the bones: yes the the legs are too small to support such a frame. excepting the fact of the huge muscle mass most bulls have. thank you and good night. | |
| 12 Feb 2004 | Aly Laine | Loading...Beautiful. Yep, i agree, the teeth.. Must be different a bit..And legs a bit more massve may be.. Still splendid | |
